Teardrop Camper Trailer Insurance Information
Insurance Information: Liability coverage on our teardrop camper trailers is tied to the tow vehicle (your car). As required by law, you will have liability coverage on the camper trailer through your existing auto policy. Some auto insurers require that you contact them prior to your trip and they will provide you with printed proof of liability coverage called a “Binder” that you must email to us or bring with you on your day of departure. Renter responsible for the $1000.00 dollar deductible. Our insurance company restricts us from releasing the trailer to a substitute such as a spouse, child, parent, friend, etc. If you need to make a change to the rental reservation, please contact us and we can assist you.
We also offer an option to purchase supplemental liability insurance (SLI) directly from Off The Grid Rentals insurance provider, MBA SLI Insurance. SLI is additional insurance coverage for the renter that provides third party liability up to $1,000,000 for bodily injury liability and $50,000 for property damage liability on rental trailers. SLI is additional insurance coverage which means it provides coverage beyond your underlying liability coverage. For trailers this coverage is excess to the liability provided from the towing vehicle.
